Continuity of care

At Blaircourt we believe in providing continuity of care to your pets, which is why you will nearly always see Nicole, Ri or Jess and on the rare occasion that they are not in you will see one of the other Blaircourt vets. This is important in building a relationship between you and your vet.

Emergencies

We offer an emergency service at a local after hours veterinary practice. In the event of an emergency please call the clinic on 01245 324437.

General care advice

Penny, our dedicated and experienced nursing team member, runs free clinics every weekday to keep an eye on your pets and ensure they see the vet if necessary. Feel free to discuss weight control, dental care and keeping those geriatric pets in good health.

In-house Specialist Referrals

We are now offering an in-house referral service with both medicine and surgical specialists so that you and your pet do not necessarily have to travel far afield. There are two veterinary specialists that can come to the practice to enhance the service that we provide at Blaircourt.

Andria Cauvin BVMS, CertVR, CertSAM, DipECVIM-CA, MRCVS

Andria qualified in 1992 and has held veterinary positions earning her extensive experience in internal medicine. Early in her career she completed the RCVS certificate in Radiology and later the RCVS certificate in small animal medicine. Since 2003 she has been a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine- Companion Animals and is an RCVS recognised specialist in Small Animal Internal Medicine.

James Creasey BVSc, CertSAS, MRCVS

James qualified in 2003 and worked at the PDSA with a surgical bias while also spending time at the Royal Veterinary College furthering his surgical expertise. After gaining his RCVS certificate in Small Animal Surgery in 2009, he has held head vet positions and now offers specialist referrals in surgery and orthopaedics and has a particular interest in key-hole surgery.

Microchipping

We place microchips so that your pets will be returned to you if they become lost. It became compulsory from 2016 for all dogs to be micro-chipped. We use the new slim chips to make this process as pain free as possible for your pet.

Routine Healthcare

Vaccinations, parasite control, dental care and neutering are all important aspects of veterinary work to prevent your pet becoming unwell. Routine check-ups are strongly advised to keep your pets healthy and we also offer a yearly health plan with large savings.

Up to date Veterinary Care

We like to keep up to date with all the novel developments in both veterinary medicine and surgical techniques to keep your pets happy and healthy.
